ABSOLUTE SAFETY TRAINING, INC. (AST) PARAMEDIC PROGRAM
The AST Paramedic Program is a Nationally Accredited Paramedic Training Program leading to National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) licensure. Our paramedic school is structured for the working adult looking to become a paramedic for job advancement or as a career change. Paramedic schools in the California EMS system all teach the Department of Transportation National Paramedic Curriculum.
What sets the AST Paramedic Program apart is the delivery of that curriculum and the support services provided to students desirous of becoming a paramedic. The Anatomy and Physiology requirement is met through concurrent instruction. Clinical rotations during the theoretical instruction segment of the paramedic training program meets the needs of the adult learner for the learn-see-do process.
Instruction takes place on Fridays and Saturdays and a few Sundays. Working paramedics support classroom instruction during skills labs and a counselor is on site for psychosocial and academic support.
ACCREDITATIONS / APPROVALS
Absolute Safety Training, Inc. is accredited through the Committee on Accrediting EMS Programs (CAAHEP/CoAEMSP) and the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).
The value of school accreditations is that the review from outside agencies provides assurances to prospective students that the program is meeting the requirements necessary for the dedicated student to develop a solid foundation of the knowledge and skills involved for entry-level paramedic performance.
In addition to our accreditations, we are approved through the Bureau of Private Postsecondary Education/Consumer Affairs, Emergency Medical Services Authority State of California and NorCal EMS, Inc.
